NEWPORT, R.I. (March 15, 2016) – The organizers of the Newport Charter Yacht Show are pleased to announce that Helly Hansen Newport has signed on as the Presenting Partner for the 2016 Charter Show, open to yacht brokers and industry professionals, from June 21-24, 2016. “We believe partnering with Helly Hansen will be a great benefit to show participants and ideal exposure for Helly Hansen, a respected and sought-after apparel brand in the marine industry,” said Eli Dana, general manager of Newport Shipyard.
Newport Shipyard, located at 1 Washington Street in downtown Newport, RI, is the new location for the 2016 Newport Charter Show, which is the only show of its kind in the U.S., featuring an exquisite collection of world-class sailing and power yachts available for charter.
“Helly Hansen is proud to partner with the Newport Charter Yacht Show because we can offer participants, guests, and marine industry professionals attending the show a variety of products suitable for their on-the-water lifestyle,” said Jay Lasky, owner of Helly Hansen Newport. “Helly Hansen gear ranges from base layers and fleece garments to heavy-duty workwear and technical foul weather gear, which can meet the needs of boating enthusiasts whether they are enjoying an afternoon onboard their daysailer or racing around the world,” Lasky continued.
“We are also the official gear supplier of the Newport Bermuda Race and will have an onsite presence at Newport Shipyard leading up to and on the race start, Friday, June 17, 2016,” Lasky said. “Sailors can find us at our retail location at 154 Thames Street in Newport and at Newport Shipyard for two weeks in June to buy official Newport Bermuda Race race apparel and other Helly Hansen products and apparel. You might also notice how sharp the Newport Shipyard team looks this year, outfitted in Helly Hansen gear. We are proud to be their official clothing partner,” Lasky concluded.
“The Newport Charter Show is only three months away and plans are coming together nicely here at the Shipyard,” Dana continued. “We have a great lineup of new sponsors, some fun crew competitions planned, and we have several yachts already registered for the show. We are excited to be the show’s new home and believe our partnership with Helly Hansen is a win-win for everyone involved.”
