Charter Show to be held at Newport Shipyard in Newport, Rhode Island, June 19-23, 2017
Dates have been set for the 36th Newport Charter Yacht Show and registration is now open online. The charter show, which features luxury sailing and motor vessels available for charter in New England, is open to yacht brokers, agents and industry professionals. The show will be held at Newport Shipyard in Newport, Rhode Island June 19-23, 2017 and will once again be presented by Helly Hansen.
"We are already looking ahead to 2017 after the success of last year's Newport Charter Yacht Show," said Eli Dana, Newport Shipyard's general manager. "We took the show over from Newport Exhibition Group who owned and managed the week-long event from 2012 to 2015. Newport Exhibition Group's team, led by Nancy Piffard, did a great job growing the show by attracting an impressive collection of boats, sponsors, vendors and charter brokers to Newport. With Nancy and her team's help, we had a smooth transition and were able to build on their success in 2016 and will continue to focus on ways to improve the show going forward," Dana said.
The 2016 charter show showcased 24 luxury yachts (10 sailing and 14 power) ranging in size from 53-feet to 161-feet. With over 80 brokers representing 40+ brokerage houses, the show was supported by twenty-four sponsors and partners and had fourteen exhibiting vendors. During the show, there were three evening parties including a yacht hop, four crew competitions, and a drone contest for captains. "It was a great, authentic vibe throughout the show," said Jay Lasky, owner of Helly Hansen Newport, the show's presenting sponsor. "When you looked around, all you saw were luxury charter yachts and superyachts… you couldn't ask for a better venue."
Registration for the Newport Charter Yacht Show is now open online: www.newportchartershow.com/yacht-registration. When registering before February 1, 2017, yachts save 10% on dockage and 25% on registration fees; when registering before April 1, brokers save $50 and exhibiting vendors save $100.
